On a phone? Best: connect a USB keyboard with an OTG cable (or a Bluetooth keyboard) – it works exactly like a computer. You can also type with the phone keyboard: tap the white box. The real SSC exam is on a desktop keyboard, so practise on a real keyboard as much as you can.

Instructions
  1. The 10-minute timer starts when you press Start Test; the test is submitted automatically when time is over.
  2. In the exam the passage is on paper: type it from the printed sheet (PDF) – capitals, punctuation and numbers exactly as given.
  3. Backspace: allowed in BSF and DSSSB, not allowed in CRPF and some other CAPF tests – choose your exam above.
  4. The passage is 2000 key depressions (official minimum: 1,750). Finished before time? Start typing the passage again from the beginning and keep going until the time is over – every extra word counts towards your speed (you can switch this off on the start page).
  5. Speed is counted on what you type: words typed = key depressions ÷ 5. Words you did not reach are not mistakes.
  6. Mistakes = full + half ÷ 2. 5% of the words typed are ignored; each remaining mistake cuts 10 words. Net WPM = (words typed − final mistakes × 10) ÷ 10. Needed: 35 WPM.

The timer keeps running.
