Instructions
  1. The 10-minute timer starts when you press Start Test; the test is submitted automatically when time is over.
  2. Choose the pattern above. CBSE pattern: Backspace works, the passage does not scroll by itself – drag its scroll bar. KVS 2023 pattern: Backspace is off, the current word is highlighted and the passage scrolls with you.
  3. Type the passage exactly as given – capitals, punctuation and numbers included – with one space after a punctuation mark. Finished early? Type it again from the start.
  4. Every error (wrong, missing, extra or repeated word, spelling, punctuation) is one mistake. Words typed = key depressions ÷ 5.
  5. CBSE pattern: net WPM = (words typed − 5 × mistakes) ÷ 10. KVS 2023 pattern: speed ≥ 35 WPM (NVS 30) and accuracy ≥ 95%.

The timer keeps running.
