Everything about SSC CGL

How selection works

Tier 1 only shortlists candidates, and each post group has its own Tier 1 cut off. Final merit uses Tier 2 scores alone: Paper I Sections I and II (out of 390) for all posts, plus Paper II for JSO/Statistical Investigator and Paper III for AAO. Computer Knowledge and the Data Entry Speed Test are qualifying only. Scores from different shifts are normalised. Minimum qualifying marks are 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS and 20% for others. Posts are then allotted on merit and the post preferences you give, with Computer Proficiency Test / DEST standards applied to the posts that need them. Document verification is done by the user departments. (CGL 2026 notice)
