Physical standards
PST height: Male 170 cm, Female 157 cm. Relaxed height (male/female): all ST 162.5/150; ST of North-East states 157/147.5; ST of LWE-affected districts 160/147.5; Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas and candidates from Assam, Himachal Pradesh, J&K and Ladakh 165/155; North-East states (Arunachal, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura) 162.5/152.5; Gorkha Territorial Administration area 157/152.5. Chest (male only): 80 cm unexpanded with minimum 5 cm expansion (ST: 76 cm + 5 cm; Hill/North-East/GTA groups: 77 cm + 5 cm). PET race: Male 5 km in 24 minutes, Female 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes; Ladakh region: Male 1.6 km in 7 minutes, Female 800 m in 5 minutes. Ex-Servicemen are exempt from PET. (SSC GD 2026 notice)

NCC certificate holders get bonus marks added to the normalised CBT score: 'C' certificate 5%, 'B' 3%, 'A' 2% of maximum marks.
