The editorial explained

In this year, during a three-nation tour marking the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, its chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed audiences in America with carefully chosen words about India's destiny, duty and . This outward-facing, conciliatory tone formed part of a sustained effort to present the organisation's worldview to a global audience in a measured, articulate manner. Barely two months later, however, his Dussehra address from Nagpur struck a strikingly different note, warning of a 'western storm' and an alleged global supposedly working to destabilise several nations, India included.

The jarring contrast between the polished outreach abroad and the ominous rhetoric at home is not accidental. It coincides with the resurgence of student , now focused on the Election Commission's conduct of a special revision of electoral rolls, after an earlier wave had subsided in July. This pattern of invoking an invisible hand to discredit domestic dissent is not new; it was famously deployed by Indira Gandhi in the 1970s to delegitimise unrest against her government, and has since been recycled whenever ruling establishments face inconvenient . Such recourse by senior RSS and ruling-party figures today denies protestors their agency and postpones an honest with governmental shortcomings.

Attributing internal to shadowy external plots reflects a deeper political and intellectual bankruptcy rather than careful analysis. A more judicious reading would connect across different countries as evidence of a shared lesson, not proof of coordinated . What is becoming worldwide is a widening disconnect between complacent political establishments and ordinary citizens, particularly the young, whose frustrations are amplified rapidly through social media. Legislatures, parties and institutions would be better served by reforming themselves and critics than by into and self-serving narratives.

Every nation, India included, undeniably functions within a web of global pressures, interests and strategic constraints that cannot be wished away. Yet this reality must never obscure the truth that the causes of public anxiety and alienation are typically domestic: economic mismanagement, rising corruption, shrinking channels of , and the steady erosion of institutions meant to ensure accountability. By leaning once again on the foreign hand explanation to suppress young protestors, the government risks contradicting its own record of confidently a changing world. It would do well to resist glib, seductive narratives that casually link trade tariffs, domestic sites and unrest in neighbouring capitals into a single, convenient .

Foreign Hand Theory: SSC English Lesson on a Fading Political Alibi

Paragraph 1

In August this year, during a three-nation tour marking the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, its chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed audiences in America with carefully chosen words about India's destiny, duty and diversity.

Grammar point: 'marking the centenary' एक participle phrase है जो tour को describe कर रहा है।

This outward-facing, conciliatory tone formed part of a sustained effort to present the organisation's worldview to a global audience in a measured, articulate manner.

Barely two months later, however, his Dussehra address from Nagpur struck a strikingly different note, warning of a sinister 'western storm' and an alleged global conspiracy supposedly working to destabilise several nations, India included.

Paragraph 2

The jarring contrast between the polished outreach abroad and the ominous rhetoric at home is not accidental.

It coincides with the resurgence of student protests, now focused on the Election Commission's conduct of a special intensive revision of electoral rolls, after an earlier wave had subsided in July.

This pattern of invoking an invisible foreign hand to discredit domestic dissent is not new; it was famously deployed by Indira Gandhi in the 1970s to delegitimise unrest against her government, and has since been recycled whenever ruling establishments face inconvenient agitation.

Grammar point: 'has since been recycled' present perfect passive है जो दिखाता है कि यह काम बार-बार अब तक होता आया है।

Such recourse by senior RSS and ruling-party figures today denies protestors their legitimate agency and postpones an honest reckoning with governmental shortcomings.

Paragraph 3

Attributing internal turmoil to shadowy external plots reflects a deeper political and intellectual bankruptcy rather than careful analysis.

A more judicious reading would connect protests across different countries as evidence of a shared lesson, not proof of coordinated conspiracy.

What is becoming evident worldwide is a widening disconnect between complacent political establishments and ordinary citizens, particularly the young, whose frustrations are amplified rapidly through social media.

Legislatures, parties and institutions would be better served by reforming themselves and engaging critics than by retreating into denial and self-serving narratives.

Grammar point: 'would be better served by doing something than by doing something else' एक comparison pattern है जो दो विकल्पों की तुलना करता है।

सार: इस पैराग्राफ का सार है कि प्रदर्शनों को साज़िश मान लेना गलत सोच है, असल बात यह है कि दुनिया भर में सत्ता और जनता के बीच दूरी बढ़ रही है और इसका हल सुधार और संवाद में है ना कि इनकार में।

Paragraph 4

Every nation, India included, undeniably functions within a web of global pressures, foreign interests and strategic constraints that cannot be wished away.

Yet this reality must never obscure the fundamental truth that the principal causes of public anxiety and alienation are typically domestic: economic mismanagement, rising corruption, shrinking channels of communication, and the steady erosion of institutions meant to ensure accountability.

By leaning once again on the foreign hand explanation to suppress young protestors, the government risks contradicting its own record of confidently engaging a changing world.

grammar point: 'By leaning... on' एक gerund phrase है जो वाक्य की शुरुआत में कारण या तरीका बताता है।

It would do well to resist glib, seductive narratives that casually link trade tariffs, domestic protest sites and unrest in neighbouring capitals into a single, convenient conspiracy.

tariffs – व्यापार शुल्क; synonym है taxes on trade। unrest – अशांति, बेचैनी; synonym है turmoil। conspiracy – साज़िश; यह word SSC में पूछा जा चुका है। grammar point: 'that casually link... into a single conspiracy' एक relative clause है जो narratives को qualify करता है, subject-verb agreement में narratives (plural) के साथ link (plural verb) आया है।

सार: यह पूरा पैराग्राफ कहता है कि हालाँकि वैश्विक दबाव सच हैं, पर जनता की असली परेशानी की जड़ें घरेलू कमियों में हैं, इसलिए विदेशी साज़िश का बहाना बनाकर असली समस्याओं से मुँह मोड़ना ग़लत रास्ता है।
