The editorial explained

A film like A Knight's Tale happily mixes 1970s rock music with a 1370s setting, yet it quietly gets several historical details correct, including the odd royal habit of jousting in . This habit belonged to Edward III of England, whose reign was so devoted to the knightly ideal of kingship that a modern simply called him 'the perfect king'. His era swung between spectacular military abroad and a catastrophic plague at home, a contrast one eighteenth-century poet captured in a few memorable lines about triumph followed swiftly by sorrow and isolation.

Given such a dramatic and contradictory reign, it seems only fitting that a Shakespeare play should exist about Edward III, and many scholars argue that one already does. A new study, relying on computerised linguistic rather than guesswork, has reopened the old argument about who actually wrote the play called Edward III. Its conclusion names Shakespeare as the , working alongside the playwright Christopher Marlowe as a , a verdict that treats close reading of vocabulary and style as solid evidence.

This development is genuinely because it shows how digital tools can bring fresh, data-based rigour to questions that literary historians have debated for generations using only intuition. At the same time, it is worth , with a touch of gentle humour, that authorship debates about Shakespeare have long attracted far more theories, such as the persistent claim that an English nobleman secretly wrote all the plays credited to him.

Paragraph 1

A film like A Knight's Tale happily mixes 1970s rock music with a 1370s setting, yet it quietly gets several historical details correct, including the odd royal habit of jousting in disguise.

This habit belonged to Edward III of England, whose reign was so devoted to the knightly ideal of kingship that a modern biography simply called him 'the perfect king'.

grammar point, 'so devoted...that' structure इतना-कि वाला परिणाम दिखाता है।

His era swung between spectacular military victory abroad and a catastrophic plague at home, a contrast one eighteenth-century poet captured in a few memorable lines about triumph followed swiftly by sorrow and isolation.

grammar point, 'swung between A and B' दो विपरीत स्थितियों के बीच बदलाव दिखाने का तरीका है।

सार: यह पूरा अनुच्छेद बताता है कि एडवर्ड तीसरे का शासनकाल शूरवीरता, जीत और त्रासदी का मिला-जुला दौर था, जिसने उन्हें एक यादगार और विरोधाभासी राजा बनाया।

Paragraph 2

Given such a dramatic and contradictory reign, it seems only fitting that a Shakespeare play should exist about Edward III, and many scholars argue that one already does.

grammar point, 'it seems only fitting that...should exist' एक subjunctive जैसी संरचना है जो उचित होने की भावना दिखाती है।

A new study, relying on computerised linguistic analysis rather than guesswork, has reopened the old argument about who actually wrote the play called Edward III.

Its conclusion names Shakespeare as the principal author, working alongside the playwright Christopher Marlowe as a collaborator, a verdict that treats close reading of vocabulary and style as solid evidence.

Paragraph 3

This development is genuinely exciting because it shows how digital tools can bring fresh, data-based rigour to questions that literary historians have debated for generations using only intuition.

grammar point, 'using only intuition' एक participle phrase है जो इतिहासकारों के तरीके को दिखाता है।

At the same time, it is worth remembering, with a touch of gentle humour, that authorship debates about Shakespeare have long attracted far more eccentric theories, such as the persistent claim that an English nobleman secretly wrote all the plays credited to him.

grammar point, 'credited to him' passive participle है जो बताता है कि नाटक किसके नाम पर दर्ज हैं।

सार: यह अनुच्छेद बताता है कि डिजिटल विश्लेषण ने भले ही एक ठोस निष्कर्ष दिया हो, पर शेक्सपियर के लेखकत्व को लेकर इससे भी अजीब सिद्धांत पहले से मौजूद हैं।
