A and B invested Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 25,000 respectively. After 6 months, A withdrew Rs. 5,000. If the total profit after 1 year is Rs. 60,000, how much does A receive?
A और B ने क्रमशः 15,000 रुपये और 25,000 रुपये का निवेश किया। 6 महीने बाद, A ने 5,000 रुपये निकाल लिए। यदि 1 वर्ष के बाद कुल लाभ 60,000 रुपये है, तो A को कितना प्राप्त होगा?
Answer: B) Rs. 20,00020,000 रुपये
A's effective investment = 15000 × 6 + (15000 − 5000) × 6 = 90000 + 60000 = 1,50,000
B's effective investment = 25000 × 12 = 3,00,000
Ratio A : B = 1,50,000 : 3,00,000 = 1 : 2
A's share = 60,000 × 1/3 = Rs. 20,000
Answer: Option 2 = Rs. 20,000A का प्रभावी निवेश = 15000 × 6 + (15000 − 5000) × 6 = 90000 + 60000 = 1,50,000
B का प्रभावी निवेश = 25000 × 12 = 3,00,000
A : B का अनुपात = 1,50,000 : 3,00,000 = 1 : 2
A का हिस्सा = 60,000 × 1/3 = रु. 20,000
उत्तर: विकल्प 2 = रु. 20,000 -
Q2Maths · Time, Speed & DistanceSSC Selection Post Ph-14 2026 · Higher Secondary Level · 19 Sep 2026 · Q57
Train A takes 1 ½ hours more than train B to cover a distance of 240 km. If the speed of train A doubles, it then takes 30 minutes less than the time taken by train B for the same distance. What is the speed of train B?
ट्रेन A, 240 km की दूरी तय करने में ट्रेन B से 1½ घंटे अधिक समय लेती है। यदि ट्रेन A की गति दोगुनी कर दी जाती है, तो वह उसी दूरी के लिए ट्रेन B द्वारा लिए गए समय से 30 मिनट कम समय लेती है। ट्रेन B की गति क्या है?
Answer: C) 96 kmph96 kmph
Formula — time.
Time = Distance ÷ Speed
Doubling the speed halves the time.
Step 1 — name the times.
Let train A take t₁ hours and train B t₂ hours for 240 km.
Step 2 — the two conditions.
t₁ − t₂ = 1.5
t₂ − t₁/2 = 0.5
Step 3 — add the two equations.
t₁ − t₁/2 = 1.5 + 0.5
t₁/2 = 2 ⇒ t₁ = 4 hours
Step 4 — time of B.
t₂ = 4 − 1.5 = 2.5 hours
Step 5 — speed of B.
240 ÷ 2.5 = 96 km/h
Answer: 96 km/h
Work with times, not speeds — the equations become linear and add straight away.
t₂ = 4 − 1.5 = 2.5 घंटे
चरण 5 — B की गति।
240 ÷ 2.5 = 96 kmph
उत्तर: 96 kmph
गति के बजाय समय के साथ काम करें — समीकरण रैखिक बन जाते हैं और सीधे जुड़ जाते हैं। -

Q5Reasoning · Statement and ConclusionSSC Selection Post Ph-14 2026 · Higher Secondary - 18 Sep 2026 Shift 2
In the following question, a statement is given, followed by possible conclusions. Choose the conclusion that logically follows.
Statement:
A study found that people who engage in regular exercise and maintain a balanced diet tend to have better mental health and productivity.
Conclusion 1: Physical health directly affects mental well-being and productivity.
Conclusion 2: Diet and exercise are the only factors affecting mental health and productivity.Answer: A) Only Conclusion 1 is followed.
Rule: accept the conclusion that restates the study's link in general terms; reject one that adds an absolute word such as only.
Conclusion 1 — follows.
Exercise and a balanced diet are the habits that build physical health.
The study ties these habits to better mental health and productivity.
So the statement supports the link between physical health and mental well-being.
Conclusion 2 — does not follow.
The study says these habits help; it does not say nothing else matters.
Sleep, stress or work conditions are not ruled out — "only factors" goes beyond the study.
Answer: Only Conclusion 1 is followed.
"Tend to have better" supports a link; it never supports "the only factors". -

Through how many degrees does the minute hand rotate from 5:42 to 7:18?
Answer: C) 576°
Rule: the minute hand turns 360° in 60 minutes = 6° per minute. Find the elapsed minutes and multiply by 6.
Elapsed time.
5:42 → 6:42 = 60 min
6:42 → 7:18 = 36 min
Total = 96 minutes
Rotation.
96 × 6 = 576°
Answer: 576°
The minute hand passes 360° every hour — so 1 h 36 min is 360° + 216° = 576°. -

Q8English · Error DetectionSSC MTS 2024 · 04-Nov Shift 2
The following sentence has been split into four segments. Identify the segment that contains a grammatical error.
The fresh air / in the garden relaxes / the minds of children as / the environment is cleaner.Answer: D) the environment is cleaner
Correct Answer: d) the environment is cleaner
Explanation:
The error lies in the phrase "the environment is cleaner."
The sentence talks about how fresh air in the garden relaxes children, implying a general truth or repeated action — so the sentence should maintain the present simple tense throughout.
However, the phrase "the environment is cleaner" uses comparative form "cleaner", which is inappropriate unless it's comparing two environments.
To correct it, the sentence should read:
"The fresh air in the garden relaxes the minds of children as the environment is clean."
• Cleaner = comparative (ज़्यादा साफ़), used when comparing
• Clean = correct positive form for a general statement (साफ़)
So, the grammatical error is in "the environment is cleaner" → it should be "the environment is clean." -
